February 21st, 2010 by Paul Briggs
Can you believe your eyes ? This is exactly what happens when two leading companies in their fields, share common values, passion and vision. The luxurious Monaco based Wally Yachts joins with French high fashion house Hermes, which creates a match made in the form of a luxury, designer yacht heaven. The union is named -Wally Hermes Yachts (WHY). The launch of the new WHY 58X38, is a multi-story 58 metre-long, 38 metre-wide floating island holiday resort with almost an acre of floorspace and an ultra-stable Norwegian Ramform hull. Nothing has been forgotten, it Incorporates the latest and most advanced sustainable technologies for example recycling thermal energy, having minimum impact on the sea environment.
The speed is slow at only 12knots in a Force 4 gale, but who’s in a hurry ? Testing of the WHY 58X38 was done in Gotebourg, Sweden, in a specialized tank testing facility, simulating big seas and full swells. It’s preformance showed that the bow moves a ting bit and the stern stays completely still.
A special WHY team has been built to reply to any needs.
