The Sonic Chair
December 23rd, 2008 by Simon Salt
The Sonic Chair allows its user to sit at the heart of the sound system with its circular enclosure. It is designed to provide maximum acoustic pleasure in an isolated space.
The caved-in body opens up for a highly resonant sound environment, with integrated satellite speakers pumping surround sound bass tones within its interior.
A four-channel amplifier in class D technology allows separate control of both stereo channels, the subwoofer, and the body focused sound membrane which also doubles up as the backrest. This further augments lower frequency sound waves for a ‘live’ music experience. Additionally, the active and passive sound insulation creates an acoustic island.
Top-grade leather and sueded micro fiber for the chair and a stainless steel pedestal to stack in wires help to reinforce a holistic listening sensation.
