Most Expensive Seat in the House

Despite the unraveling U.S. economy, you might feel like you are not doing all that badly. But do you own a solid gold toilet? The folks at Hang Fung Gold Technology Group in Hong Kong do. The 24 karat solid gold toilet is part of a display at he company’s Hong Kong showroom, which is dubbed the “Hall of Gold,” and contains several opulent handcrafted treasures. The toilet is not meant to be used and is only one part of a larger display of gold items entitled, “The World’s Most Expensive Gold and Jewelry Sparkling Environmental Friendly Washroom.” The toilet is not for sale, although if you really want one badly enough, the Hang Fu Gold Technology Group could probably be persuaded to make one for you.
It won’t come cheap. If the posh potty room were to be melted down today, the company would gross a cool $32 million on materials alone. Labor costs for a new sold gold potty would push that price even higher, and then there’s the design issue. Maybe porcelain isn’t so bad after all.
