Luxury Train Project Gets a Mystery Investor
October 1st, 2009 by Brian
A luxury train project has gotten a big boost towards becoming a reality with reports that an undisclosed investor who has experience in operating luxury trains in other states has shown interest in the luxury train project similar to the Palace on Wheels. The person’s identity has been kept secret but if their talks scheduled for October 5 ends on a positive note, the Orissa tourism department can add another provision in perking up its tourism efforts.
The luxury train will provide the tourists with a flavor of the state’s wildlife, beaches, Buddhist sites, exquisite temples, arts and crafts, dance forms, Chilika lake and the tribal culture. This service will be tweaked so that middle-income groups can also get the opportunity to try it out. The proposed service is estimated to cost Rs 37 crore (Rs 370 million) and it was intended to be implemented in the public-private partnership mode.
