Louis Vuitton 2009 Autumn/Winter Collection
June 4th, 2009 by Simon Salt
This new Autumn/Winter 2009/10 men’s collection has been described as “the traveling wardrobe of an African king” by Louis Vuitton men’s design director Paul Helbers. With this new collection, Louis Vuitton hopes to compete with the other famous European fashion houses. Some of the opulent items include pieces constructed in antelope leather and a mink coat, but the one that stands out is an alligator officer’s jacket shown recently in Paris.
The tunic-styled jacket has been fashioned in top-grade tan alligator skin with antiqued gold buttons and epaulettes. Pricing has not been announced, but it’s being anticipated to cost somewhere between $50,000 and $75,000, and may even be special order.
