These days, almost anybody can buy a mini-mansion, or even a maxi-mansion, but how many people are creative enough to invest in their own island? Amazingly, lots of people! Buying one’s own private island has become the hottest new thing in real estate, and what astonishing is that it isn’t even always all that expensive. Privateislandsonline.com lists islands for sale in all parts of the world, and while some are very expensive (a 2000 acre paradise off Grenada is listed for $100 million), others are actually cheaper than a house in the country (a ¾ acre island off Nova Scotia is listed for a mere $28,000).
