Is it a Bird ? Is it a Plane ? No Joke, it’s a Flying Hovercraft !

March 8th, 2010 by Paul Briggs

This is so crazy, to see with your eyes. Firstly, you think it’s a photshoped picture or one of thoes computer generated ‘make-believe’ photos, however with great honesty - this is a true photo. Welcome to the new age of the Flying Hovercraft, where the skies are definently the limit ! Let’s give a warm round of applause to inventor and creator Rudy Heeman of Nelson, New Zealand.

This unique hovercraft can travel on land, water and now air. Capabale of flight, this project has taken Mr. Heeman 11 years to come to fruition. The functions are similar to those on a regular Hovercraft, though when you hit the maximum speed of 60mph, its wings will be be extended further for it to take flight. Powered by a 1.8 liter Subru engine, it has removable wings and has a maximum flight weight capacity of 160kg. No good to sky-dive from as the maximum flying height from the ground is 3 meters.
