“Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” Movie Home For Sale
May 27th, 2009 by Simon Salt
Fans of the 1986 movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” will remember this home and garage in Highland Park, Illinois. In the film, the home belonged to Bueller’s best friend Cameron Frye’s father and housed a too tempting red 1961 Ferrari 250 GTO that Bueller and Frye took for that memorable joyride through Chicago. The home, known as the Ben Rose home, was designed by architects A. James Speyer and David Haid.
The home has been owned by Rose since its construction in 1953 and is also known as the Ben Rose Auto Museum. Rose died in 2004, but his wife Francis lived there until her death earlier this year. This contemporary style home is 5,300 square feet. The garage is also an art showcase for modern pieces as well as vintage cars (if you happen to collect either). The property is listed as being sold as is with no disclosures and likely needs some renovations. Asking price is $2.3 million.
