Capella- New Six-Star Luxury Hotel in Singapore

In spite of Singapore being in recession and the slump affecting tourism numbers across the region, Capella, a six-star luxury hotel opened there last week. The $260-million hotel is located within 12 hectares of sprawling land and lush greenery. It features 111 rooms, including 32 private villas and is the first of its kind on Sentosa to come with their own pools.
Designed by renowned interior designer Jaya Ibrahim, founder of Jaya and Associates, the welcoming and attractive colors of the rooms reflect the inherent charm of the tropical setting. The use of rattan and wood are featured prominently and the rooms are roomy, comfortable and restful. A night’s stay at the hotel will set you back around $499 while a Villa stays costs about $1,185 a night.
