2009 Parade of Homes - Denver
February 14th, 2009 by Simon Salt
In a depressed real estate market, luxury still sells—or at least it still gets people out and about. The Home Builders Association of Metro Denver has decided that the 2009 Parade of Homes will be recast to showcase pre-existing luxury homes in and around Denver instead of the tradition onsite tour of freshly built subdivision models. Most major metropolitan areas in the United States have a local chapter of the Home Builders Association that puts on a Parade of Homes every year to draw out potential buyers, but over the course of 2008 builders began to face more and more issues over financing.
HBA board member Clarence Hughes said that in light of the current and ongoing credit crunch this year’s show will focus on existing homes in the $1 million and above price range and will be retitled The Denver Luxury Home Tour. The tour will be open to the public from June 5th through July 5th. Homes will be selected by a panel of peers in the Denver home building industry.
